Speech and Language
Instructor: Mrs. Abernathy and Mrs. Flanders   
Welcome to the Springwoods Speech and Language page! Speech and language therapy is provided to students in preschool through fifth grade who qualify for services based on weaknesses in any of the following areas:
  • ARTICULATION: difficulty pronouncing sounds

  • RECEPTIVE LANGUAGE: difficulty understanding what you hear

  • EXPRESSIVE LANGUAGE: difficulty expressing yourself through words

  • FLUENCY: interruption of the flow of speech that may include hesitations, repetitions, or prolongations of sounds or words
  • VOICE: quality of voice that may include hoarseness, nasality, or volume
